This page provides guidance on how to perform common tasks in the new 3D viewer.
¶ Measure a distance
How to measure a distance between two atoms:
¶ 1. Change the selection mode from Residue to Atom
¶ 2. Click on the Measurements icon on the top right
¶ 3. Select two atoms in the 3D viewer
Note: Selecting atoms displayed in line representation can be difficult. For easier selection, switch the representation to ball‑and‑stick.
¶ 4. The distance is displayed
The distance is displayed directly in the viewer and also in the Measurements panel on the top left. This is where you can delete the distance if needed.
